With the recent release of RC2, SWCMS is soon to break out of beta, and that shouldn't go unnoticed.
For most of 2008 I was bogged down in bugs, spam, and worried about getting hacked. I was on Pligg 9.8.2 and with all the customizations I had made, I didn't think I'd ever be able to upgrade. I saw little progress with Pligg and was just sitting around, expecting some major bug or security flaw to come and finish my site off.
Now, with SWCMS RC2, JapanSoc is on the bleeding edge of the social web. It feels stable, secure and full of promise. My confidence has been restored in my own site and my users are able to focus on what's important - sharing content.
I'd like to quote one of a dozen testimonials from my site's users to show how influential SWCMS has been:
In 2003 I started getting involved with Japan-related sites. From 2005 to today I have combed what I call the “Japan-related web” looking for “gems” (sites that are indispensably valuable) and have talked to many of the people behind the sites. I know what the J-web has to offer, and there is nothing better than the tools and community available here at JapanSoc. It is indispensably valuable. No site has done a better job of uniting the Japan-related blogosphere into a community. No site has a better system for empowering Japan-enthusiasts to connect and discuss the things that interest them. It’s sweeter than ice cream!
I wanted Ash and co. to know how grateful we are at JapanSoc.com for all the work that's been done to bring SWCMS right up to a v1.0 release.
When that release comes, I hope everyone here on the forums can rally together for a big publicity push, so we can get SWCMS the attention it deserves!
