Swelgg is a close copy of the default Elgg social networking template, redesigned for Social Web CMS.

Note: This is beta version 0.2. Last updated Dec. 29th 2008.

Essentially, Swelgg is yget, heavily adapted to make it look like the Elgg theme.

Points of interest:
  • It's ideal if you're hoping to eventually integrate your SWCMS site with Elgg
  • No sidebar login/registration box (I just commented it out, but it's still there)
  • Published, Upcoming and Submit all moved into top navigation bar
  • Spotlight box in the footer - add anything you want there
  • Wide sidebar (306px)
  • W3C CSS validated
  • It's free!

Swelgg is my first SWCMS template, and I'd be grateful for any feedback so I can fix bugs or make changes.

Note: The screenshot was really long, so I cut it in half and glued the ends together. You can't see them, but sidebar boxes for comments and tags are included. Also note that Swelgg does not provide integration with Elgg, it just mimics the Elgg default theme.

Version History
  • Dec. 29th 2008 - v.0.2 - Made link description text areas smaller to prevent overlap
  • Dec. 28th 2008 - v.0.1 - First version

Good Job! I didn't realize the basic layout of Elgg has a lot in common with yget. Swelgg matches perfectly. It's just waiting for the Elgg "friends" sidebar.

Thanks again LCD.

[BUG FIX] I've updated Swelgg to v.0.2.

This version shrinks the text area size for link descriptions in submit_step_2.tpl and editlink_edit_center.tpl to prevent the boxes breaking the layout. I also updated the template_details.php file to describe Swelgg instead of Yget.

If you have version 0.1. I've attached the changed files to this message, so you don't have to mess about with the whole package again.

* editlink_edit_center.tpl (5.4 KB - downloaded 75 times.)
* submit_step_2.tpl (6.39 KB - downloaded 57 times.)
* template_details.php (0.41 KB - downloaded 54 times.)

Looks great. Thanks for sharing. Just wondering if it will be possible to show the number of Upcoming Stories as mentioned HERE.

Yes, the header file is a little bit different, but you could still make those modifications. I can't put it into this template as a standard feature because it requires a core file edit.
